Another year, another the Makeup Show New York City weekend that came and went. So much to talk about, such little time. This is what I would call a *my favorites* TMS New York haul post. All these lovelies went straight into my makeup kit.
What did I buy?
– Face Atelier Pro Ultra Foundations #2 #4 #6
Although I also use the FA 0 to tone down my other foundations (and the 0++ to custom create darker skin tones), I wanted to have a wider array of colors to choose from. FA works well with oily skin.
– Makeup Forever HD foundation 117
Why? This is a very universal medium yellow undertone foundation, excellent for olive skin complexions, for events and red carpets I like this a lot.
– Viseart Neutrals Palette
For my corporate work and catalog shoots, neutrals is what I use mostly (this kind of work is what pays the big bucks). I reviewed Viseart on another blog post, in a nutshell it is the best set of matte eyeshadows with zero fallout and big color payoff
– Senna Cream to Powder Cheek Palette
I just love the idea of having cream cheek shadows that finish like powder since I work with HD cameras and I am not a lover of powder. This is an oil free formula, silicone based and it looks gorgeous! I trust 100% the products that Eugenia Weston creates for Senna. (Will do a proper review after).
– Senna Doubletakes Eyeshadow Duo
For $1 this was a steal, this is a combo of a deep electric blue with an iridescent white highlighter eyeshadows.
– Beauty Blender Pack
Believe it not, sometimes when I’ve done airbrush makeup, a blender sponge comes in handy for stippling and ensuring application is 100% right.
– Smashbox Limit Less 15 hr Wear Cream Shadow Icon
I bought a couple of these last year and they got used a lot for bridal work, never had any complaints, they stay on and you can pile some nice layers of other colors on top. Next to the oil free primer Smashbox does, this is my #2 most favorite product Smashbox has.
– Makeup Forever Aqua Matic S52 and D10
Love these new waterproof eyeshadows! They are rich in color and like the Aqua Shadows have a strong stay power, wear nicely as eyeliner too.
– Bdellium Tools Brushes Studio Face 935 and Eyes 767
I love the quality of Bdellium and own quite a few, they offer a pro discount and develop a nice range of both cruelty free and anti bacterial brushes.
